This is the fourth one so far. "M$ in GTA4 panic", "Microsoft Screws Gamers", the one about the PS3 GTA4 bundle being the end for the 360, and now this one. That's all in like the month and a half.
They should have randomly selected like 5k people from every region according to who signed up, then let them play now. The Japan only thing is a little more upsetting than the fact that it's delayed. Pick some random people, let them play, and then slowly add people as you get more servers to run it.

Exactly. It is a beta, and there will be flaws, but if people can't even get to play the game the major gameplay flaws won't be found. They should have been a little more aware of how many people were going to play it and just restricted the number of people that got in day 1.
The halo 3 beta used crackdown to limit the number of people that got in while at the same time helping boost sales of an already good game. They didn't need to stress test because they don't have to have servers for anything other than stats.
This is a problem that is inherent to the way PSN works. P2P wouldn't/didn't have this problem. It'll be fine once they get enough servers to host everyone, but it'll b hard till they do, and it is a result of the way PSN is set up.

Why bundle a game that is going to have better content on your system and probably sell just as much regardless of whether or not it's bundled. They'd just lose ~$20 per combo.
As it is right now, you can have Halo 3, PGR4, GTA4, a 360, and a year of XBL for about the same price as a PS3/GTA4 bundle.

I hate how he says "If you ignore the months around the Halo 3 launch the mean sales are about the same as '06". It's just like, oh really? removing the biggest game launch on the console for the year hurts the average hardware sales? Why did they cut out holidays btw? It's because they're leading in the core gamer market and software sales. Wii is winning hardware by a ton, M$ is winning software by a ton, they both hold a good share of the gaming market right now. If this gen ended today, it would be easily debatable as to who won it because of that fact.
It still has a huge deficit to outsell the 360 by 2010 if it wants to get out of third. Personally, I wouldn't call no longer being outsold consistently month after month significantly a success story.
